TMM Doctrine of Excellence

“The Excellence Doctrine below is published exactly as it exists internally at Two Marines Moving. It has not been edited, rewritten, or adapted for marketing purposes. This doctrine is not aspirational language, motivational copy, or branding rhetoric—it is the operational standard by which we select leaders, train teams, make decisions, and hold ourselves accountable. We publish it publicly because we believe excellence should be defined, enforced, and visible. Those aligned with these standards will recognize themselves immediately; those who are not are not our audience.”

Commander’s Intent

Excellence at Two Marines Moving is not a slogan, not a mood, and not an aspiration. It is a standard,

deliberately chosen, relentlessly enforced, and repeatedly demonstrated. Excellence is how we honor

our clients, our teammates, our brand, and the mission.

Definition of Excellence

Excellence is the disciplined, repeatable execution of high standards—especially when no one is

watching, when it would be easier to cut corners, or when excuses are available. Excellence is not

perfection. Excellence is professional mastery, consistency, and pride in workmanship.

What Excellence IS

At Two Marines Moving, Excellence means doing the job right the first time; preparing thoroughly

before execution; showing up on time, every time; treating the client’s property better than our own;

communicating clearly, directly, and respectfully; maintaining professional appearance, demeanor, and

conduct; executing the mission with discipline, precision, and care; holding ourselves accountable

without being reminded; and taking pride in earned reputation, not excuses. Excellence is a habit, built

through repetition and enforced through standards.

What Excellence Is NOT

Excellence is not doing just enough, cutting corners, blaming circumstances, clients, teammates, or

leadership, excusing poor performance due to fatigue, stress, or inconvenience, inconsistency

disguised as flexibility, talent without discipline, or intent without execution. There is no excellence in

talk without results.

Excellence Is Required—Not Optional

Excellence is not situational. It applies equally to founders, leaders, team leaders, moving specialists,

dispatchers, office staff, contractors, and partners. Rank, tenure, or background does not exempt

anyone from the standard.

Relationship to Other Core Values

Excellence does not stand alone. It is the expression of the other core values in action. Honor ensures

excellence is truthful. Courage demands excellence under pressure. Commitment sustains excellence

over time. Team and Troops are protected by excellence. Profit confirms excellence by validating value

created. Excellence is how values become visible.Enforcement

Excellence is measured by behavior and results, not intentions. Failure to meet the standard triggers

correction, coaching, or removal. Repeated failure to meet the standard constitutes incompatibility with

the team. Two Marines Moving is a team, not a family. Teams exist to perform.

Cultural Maxim

“Excellence is not an act. It is a habit.” — Widely embraced in military leadership training
